The blogs the thing, whence I shall communicate with thee, you and you also.
Now that I got that over with ... I have always wondered what I would blog about, well starting today I will find out.
Things started out slowly today, we brought bagels home from our favorite local bagel shop and ate on the deck, it is one of my favorite things about summer, being able to eat out of doors.
We drove up to Newton to rescue Taya from boredom at a rummage sale her parents were doing at a local church. On the way home, Susan O. called and we agreed to meet for lunch at a pizzeria that we all like. Taya got to entertain new adults, one of her favorite passtimes.
Today was Hopatcong Days, day #1. I must admit, that in 30 years, this is the first time I attended...I don't know if there has been Hopatcong Days for 30 years, but I know it has been going on for years, but this year, I read the website and decided that I would bring Taya and we would check out the festivities.
Number one activity on Taya's to do list was Face Painting. We found the best face painter I have seen, and we have visited some face painting booths in our day. Cait's Paints featured a few samples, all expertly done and she offered to create whatever else the subject wished ...Taya wished to be a Lion and when Cait was done, Taya was thrilled. She purred, growled and claimed to sniff out her parents at dinner later...
The rest of the visit included mini golf, whiffle ball toss, mallet swing, snow cone, cotton candy,
bouncey slide, bouncy run and rock climbing.
We had a great time. Jerry got to hear a talk about and see a python that would grow to 27 feet long . He chatted with a neighbor's son who is a big reptile fan and had gotten some collector cards, which he showed Jerry. There was a guitar player who sang and played some John Denver type songs, which made the atmosphere even more pleasant.
The consensus was that the organizers did an outstanding job of creating a "kid friendly" activity that was blessed by clear skies and cool temperatures.
By the time we were ready to leave, Dan and Stacye were done with the rummage sale and hungry so we met them at Frank's. Then they brought the rummage leftovers to store in my basement until the townwide garage sale in the Fall...I can't wait.
